With a typical stay consisting of just 14 guests, Klahoose Wilderness Resort is small and personal. Guests enjoy meeting the Klahoose and local staff and engaging with the other guests, often developing lasting friendships. Exclusive resort buy-outs for multi-generational families or “bubble groups” is also possible, with shared accommodation for up to 26 guests. As each day passes you will fall into the rhythm of the coast, with staff guiding your journey. Slow down, smell the cedar, taste the ocean, and be inspired by the natural beauty of the land and the Indigenous culture.

Itinerary
Arrival at Klahoose Wilderness Resort
Upon arrival at Powell River Airport, connect with your group for an 11am shuttle to charming Lund. Following the 45 minute land transfer, you will have time to explore this picturesque seaside village prior to departing for Klahoose Wilderness Resort. The 3pm boat transfer takes approximately 1 hour, allowing you time to settle in before enjoying a a traditional welcome and then a delicious dinner at the resort.

Following breakfast join your group for a 4-5 hour boat tour exploring Desolation Sound. Your Cultural Interpreter will provide commentary as you watch for marine life such as Humpback Whales and Orca, view stunning waterfalls, and of course search for Grizzly and Black Bears.
Return to the resort where you can enjoy the amenities such as the woodfire sauna, kayaking, or paddle boarding.
For dinner, you will enjoy a delicious meal prepared by the Chef, using fresh local ingredients.

Today visit Ahpokum, a traditional village site. Listen to an Indigenous storyteller, and try your hand at cedar weaving. Consider booking one of the optional tours such as a Guided Fishing Charter or a Heli-hiking tour. Or simply spend the rest of the day relaxing at the resort prior to another extraordinary dinner.

Departure from Klahoose Wilderness Resort
Enjoy a final breakfast at the resort and board a late morning boat transfer for the 45-minute ride back to Lund. An optional land transfer takes you onwards from Lund to Powell River airport, where you will depart for Vancouver.
