The Unceded Journey

Depart the hotel to Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory. Learn the history of Odawa Mnis (Manitoulin Island) and Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory—Canada’s only officially recognized Unceded Indian Reserve. We will visit historic sites including the 1836 Treaty historic site, Holy Cross Mission Ruins (residential school site), Smith Bay trading site.

Maple Sugar Camp

This guided tour takes you through a Healing Lodge, Museum, Residential School Exhibit, and Gift shop -Elder Engagement.

Bridal Veil Falls

After lunch, we will depart to Kagawong and explore Bridal Veil Falls and walk the nature trail. This guided tour includes plant and medicine teachings.

Kagawong History and Shops

We will now have time to explore the Old Mill Heritage Centre, Kagawong Lighthouse, and St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church. Make sure to stop in at Manitoulin Chocolate Works, Bare Naked Beauty, and Boo-Bah-Lou Candy Cabin.

Dewegan-Drum & Song

Join us for a Dewegan-Drum & Song Interactive Community Social at the hotel this evening. Includes MC, full drum group, dance demonstrations (dancers in full regalia), and catered appetizers.

We will board the bus and depart to Cup & Saucer Trail on Hwy 540. We will have a guided hike to Cup & Saucer Bluffs.

Finally depart Manitoulin Island to travel home, with rest stops along the way.
